The bed is nice for the price. Seems sturdy so far. I'm using it as a bed for a toddler and it's nice b/c its not that high. The only thing is the 2 drawers are very difficult to open and close; so they don't glide out easily...but it's a fixable problem. Other than that, I'm happy with the product.
We ordered this bed for our little girl's 6th birthday. She was really looking forward to it! When we peeled it out of its cardboard shell, we realized that several of the weight-bearing boards were splintered in half! We called Amazon customer service only to be told that they would not accept photographic proof of the damaged item, but that we had to go out and find and buy a box big enough to hold this damaged item and then return it. I cannot lift this on my own. The pieces that were not broken are longer than I am tall. Where on Earth am I going to find a box that will fit this? Tawny C. at Amazon.com customer service doesn't care. She was very smug and unforgiving about the broken bed and sounded highly pleased with herself when I told her that there would be no boxes big enough to hold this item. She happily told me that I could not have the item replaced or refunded, and that I was simply out the $163 that I spent on a broken piece of junk.
I would give this five stars, but one of the platform boards was slightly damaged. It took forever for me to put together by myself, but I am pregnant and disabled, probably more than two hours. Looks really nice and I plan on buying another one next month for my older daughter so the girl's room will no longer have mis-matched furniture. I'm considering the double dresser. Just a note that there are pieces that aren't the color of the rest of the bed, but it doesn't matter as you or anyone else for that matter will not see. Its actually more comfortable than my bed!
Good price, but the drawers are really difficult to open and close. It also took me two hours to put the thing together.
Didn't want to break the bank at a fancy furniture store, but also don't care for the cheap plastic furniture made for kids. This is an excellent compromise, particle wood to be sure, but very well made, heavy and sturdy, easy to put together (took me, by myself, about one hour). Drawers aren't the smoothest in opening, but sturdier than most others. Nice finish, packaged extremely well. Gotta love Amazon, free shipping for such a heavy item; this is easily the best price you will find (actually dropped $10 from the $150 I paid for it) anywhere, especially if you consider delivery fees... Thinking of rounding out my daughter's bedroom with the rest of the collection (nightstand, headboard with bookshelves, dresser).
